Pre-registration for COVID Vaccine Now Open for Haywood County

Pre-registration is now open for Haywood County residents over the age of 75 interested in COVID-19 vaccination. Residents can pre-register by one of the following methods: Online at: https://www.haywoodcountync.gov/vaccine OR By Phone: 828-356-2019 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. Please DO NOT show up in person to resister. This registry system is NOT for people in long-term care facilities or who work in healthcare and have already been contacted about vaccination. There is no cost to the patient when receiving the COVID-19 vaccine through Public Health. Appointments are for full time Haywood County residents only.

The vision Statement of the WHA is to improve the quality of life of the residents of the housing authority by providing safe and decent housing. The WHA will also educate and empower residents to improve their quality of life through assistance by providing safe and decent housing opportunities with upgrades and rehabilitation of their units.

Mission

The Mission Statement of the WHA is to become a leader in providing low-income, affordable, safe, and decent housing to the Southwestern, North Carolina region and provide the residents with respect and empower their ability to lift themselves out of poverty.  

WHA offices are located in the Waynesville Tower at 48 Chestnut Park Drive.  The Tower has restricted entry so please use the call box at the entrance during office hours. Please observe social distancing and wear a mask at all times.

TENANTS: If you have business at the office, please call to make an appointment. If you get voicemail, please leave a message. If you have a maintenance emergency, call (828) 734-2783 and leave a message.

APPLICANTS: Incomplete applications without requested documentation will NOT be accepted.

Also, we do not provide information about the waiting lists or an applicant’s position on the list. Applicants will be notified in advance of a potential vacancy if they are next on the waiting list.
