WHA (Low-Income) Unit Availability Status

The Waynesville Housing Authority (Low-Income) works from waiting lists and does not currently have units available to lease. When a unit becomes available, we contact the next person on the waiting list to make an offer.

We are accepting applications for the 0-BR (Studio/Efficiency), 2-BR, 3-BR & 4-BR waiting lists at this time. The 1-BR waiting list is currently closed.

Electric, water sewer, & garbage pick up is included in rent. 

All interior/exterior maintenance completed by staff.

If you are interested in applying for low-income housing, complete a pre-application form on our website here and an official application will be sent to you upon review.

Vision

The vision Statement of the WHA is to improve the quality of life of the residents of the housing authority by providing safe and decent housing. The WHA will also educate and empower residents to improve their quality of life through assistance by providing safe and decent housing opportunities with upgrades and rehabilitation of their units.

Mission

The Mission Statement of the WHA is to become a leader in providing low-income, affordable, safe, and decent housing to the Southwestern, North Carolina region and provide the residents with respect and empower their ability to lift themselves out of poverty.  

WHA offices are located in the Waynesville Tower at 48 Chestnut Park Drive.  The Tower has restricted entry so please use the call box at the entrance during office hours. Please observe social distancing and wear a mask at all times.

TENANTS: If you have business at the office, please call to make an appointment. If you get voicemail, please leave a message. If you have a maintenance emergency, call (828) 734-2783 and leave a message.

APPLICANTS: Incomplete applications without requested documentation will NOT be accepted.

Also, we do not provide information about the waiting lists or an applicant’s position on the list. Applicants will be notified in advance of a potential vacancy if they are next on the waiting list.
